Musical Director

Chris Robinson, our new music director joined the band in September 2008

He is a working composer and arranger, aged 59, his wife is a midwife, his son is an opera singer, and his daughter is an artist.. They have 2 dogs, Ben & Echo, and have recently moved back to Suffolk to be nearer his wife's family.

After a fascinating 27 years in British Army music, Chris trained as a music teacher and worked for 9 years in a high school classroom in Bedfordshire. Chris retired early from teaching 5 years ago, had a period of improving his Sibelius technique, and had a job at the Environment Agency - from which he has now retired.

During his army music days, Chris composed and arranged a great deal of music for his regimental band.
